Ms. Silvy Mir
I'm excited about a new year in Kindergarten! This is my second consecutive year in Kindergarten. Before that I taught First Grade for 7 years before moving back to Kindergarten. This will be my ninth year in Kindergarten , and I'm happy to be back!
I have been with PISD for the past eighteen years of which sixteen have been with my Mathews family! I grew up and went to school in many different countries, but have called Plano my home for the past 32 years.
I have Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics, and Psychology from Kinnaird College and a Master’s Degree in Business from Webster University in The Netherlands.
My road to teaching began when my oldest child started school in Plano. I was an active volunteer, and substitute in Plano ISD. I decided to get my Teaching Certification from Region 10, as I love children, believe in Plano ISD and I cannot imagine any other career that is more meaningful to me.
My oldest daughter graduated with a Master’s Degree from Washington University, and got married two years ago. She lives with her husband and cat! My second daughter graduated with a dual BA in Finance and Economics, and is working in the “real” world! My baby is a son currently studying at UTD. We also have a cat, Tina who thinks we are her pets! All of my children attended Plano ISD schools from Kindergarten through 12th Grade. My son also attended Mathews.
I love living in Plano, and like to walk, bike, cook and read in my free time. I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures, and people. Last summer I was fortunate enough to cross off a few items from my Bucket list. I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
Mathews is my second home, and I love being part of our dynamic family! I’m excited about a new school year and learning about your child and family!
