Ms. Kijafa Tilford
I am so very proud to say that I am an Okie from Muskogee, Oklahoma that is!!! I’ve always had a passion for teaching and learning ever since I was very young. Throughout my years in education I have truly fallen in love with not only teaching children but helping adults grow as well. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Education degree from Langston University located in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2005 and my Masters of Education Administration from Concordia University at Austin in 2011. I have worked in various roles within education for 15 years. In 2005, my daughter and I moved to North Dallas where I began to start my teaching career. I had the pleasure of teaching 3rd grade teacher for 7 years before being promoted to a Campus Reading Specialist while interning as an Assistant Principal. Just after a year of being a specialist, I was named as the Assistant Principal. As life changed I moved to a neighboring district where I served as a Campus Instructional Specialist Admin where I worked with all grade levels and all teachers on developing best teaching practices for all students in all curricular areas. I served in that role for 3 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Upon entering my 16th year of education, I am elated to be a part of a dynamic district and an amazing school, Miller Elementary within Plano ISD as the Assistant Principal. My goal this year is to learn more, grow and serve the wonderful community of Miller Elementary students and staff.
