Kindergarten Teacher
My name is Karen Luellen, and I have happily been a kindergarten teacher at Beverly Elementary since 2003. I graduated with honors from Emporia State University in Kansas (Class of ’95) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education and dual specializations in Early Childhood and Multiculturalism in the Classroom. I have two college-age children. My daughter Kathryn is working on her PhD in political science at the University of Dublin, Ireland. My son John is attending Stephen F. Austin as a senior working toward his degree in Psychology. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband Joe and our family and friends. I also love reading sci-fi novels, browsing antique shops, or playing word games. I feel truly honored to teach kindergarten and cannot imagine a more supportive and caring environment for children to learn and grow than Beverly Elementary. My personal goal is to offer a happy and safe place for children to feel accepted, appreciated, and encouraged to show perseverance as we work together to meet their individual needs. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year!
