Miss Julie Thrift

Miss Thrift earned a Bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University and received both Special Education and Regular Education certification.  She also earned a Masters degree in School Counseling from Amberton University.  Upon receiving her teaching certification, Miss Thrift taught for 11 years before becoming a school counselor at Stinson in 2010.  As school counselor, she works with students in a variety of ways and also delivers guidance lessons for all students twice per month.  The topics of these lessons include problem-solving, self-awareness, self-regulation, bully prevention, responsibility, goal-setting, drug awareness, college/career/military readiness and more.  Miss Thrift coordinates Kindness & Safety Patrol for 4th and 5th grade students and works collaboratively with parents and staff to ensure student success.  She adores working with students, staff and parents at Stinson and looks forward to many more years of service.
