Hello! My name is Kelli Valdez and I am thrilled to begin another year as a Stinson Star. I am proud that I have spent my entire career in 1st grade since 2016 and am well versed in the needs of first graders.

I love teaching and, as a result of my experiences, I have developed personal goals and beliefs that guide my role as a teacher. My main goal is to create a safe, welcoming classroom community where every child feels valued and successful. I want to foster a “can-do” attitude and spark an insatiable curiosity for knowledge within each of my students. I recognize that each child is unique in their own way and has been blessed with a wealth of individual talents. I strive to help each of my students build upon their talents to succeed both in and out of school. I hope to mold a classroom full of independent thinkers and well-rounded individuals.

When I'm not teaching I love spending time with my husband, who is an app developer for American Airlines, our nearly two-year old daughter Olivia and our dog Bella. Some of my favorite things to do are travel, binge watch Netflix and shop.
