Becoming a teacher in Plano ISD
Plano ISD prides itself on hiring the highest quality teaching staff for the benefit of all learners. Candidates must hold the correct credentials for the assignment, which can be found in the Texas Administrative Code Chapter 231. A Valid Texas teaching certificate, or Statement of Eligibility from a TEA approved Educator Preparation Program, with the appropriate certifications for the position is required.

Certificate Renewal: Standard Certificates are valid for 5 years and have Continuing Professional Education requirements for renewal. Renew your Standard Certificate
Adding Certifications: If you hold a valid Standard or Provisional certificate, you can add classroom certifications by passing the appropriate exam(s). Once you have passed the exam(s), you will need to apply and pay to add the certification to your certificate. Additional Certification by Exam
