Plano ISD Announces New Principal at Rose Haggar Elementary

At the May 19 Plano ISD school board meeting, Melissa Harris was introduced as the new principal at Rose Haggar Elementary.
Harris brings 20 years of experience to Rose Haggar. Most recently, she served as the assistant principal at Rasor Elementary, where she implemented systems, procedures and campus structures to support students, staff and families. Before becoming an administrator, Harris spent 17 years as a teacher in El Paso ISD and Plano ISD.
Harris received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M at Commerce.
“Rose Haggar is a campus where students from many different backgrounds are welcomed, valued and supported,” said Harris. “I have heard about the caring staff, involved families, strong PTA, meaningful traditions and the sense of community that makes Rose Haggar feel like family. I am grateful for the opportunity to build upon those strengths as we continue working together in support of every student.”
