Plano ISD Trustee Recognized for Completing TASB Leadership Program

Plano ISD trustees and Superintendent Dr. Theresa Williams proudly represented the district at the Texas Association of School Boards’ annual Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) in Fort Worth, held on June 19, 2026.
During the SLI event, TASB recognized Board Secretary Katherine Goodwin and 31 other trustees from across Texas for completing the 2026 Leadership TASB program and earning the title of Master Trustee, TASB's highest designation. Leadership TASB inspires trustees to be proactive, visionary leaders who promote educational excellence for all children in Texas public schools. Each member was recognized at the conference for completing all requirements. The program is highly selective and connects school board leaders to their purpose in serving Texas’ 5.5 million public school students. More than 1,000 trustees have completed the year-long program since its founding in 1990.
Mrs. Goodwin joins current Board Vice President Nancy Humphrey, former Trustee Jeri Chambers and former Board President Missy Bender as Plano ISD trustees to reach this designation. She has served on the Plano ISD School Board since 2023 and was selected by her fellow trustees to serve as Board Secretary in May 20226. Learn more about Mrs. Goodwin.

Known as TASB’s flagship conference, the training offered experienced school trustees a place to share key information with new trustees, provided practical tips for newly elected board officers and gave experienced trustees an update on innovative practices and emerging trends.
