Plano ISD Welcomes New Trustees and Honors Outgoing Board Members

During the May 20 board meeting, Plano ISD swore in newly elected and re-elected trustees, while honoring the dedicated service of outgoing board members Jeri Chambers and Angela Powell.

The Oath of Office was administered to the following trustees:

• Dr. Lauren Tyra, Place 1 (Re-elected)
• Sam Johnson, Place 2 (Newly elected)
• Nancy Humphrey, Place 3 (Re-elected)
• Elisa Klein, Place 6 (Newly-elected)

After the swearing in, a ceremonial “pinning” was held by outgoing trustees, symbolizing the passing of the torch; and the trustees organized themselves into new officer roles:

• Dr. Lauren Tyra, President
• Nancy Humphrey, Vice President
• Tarrah Lantz, Secretary

The community had the opportunity to say goodbye to retiring trustees during a special reception on May 13, 2025 at the Robinson Fine Arts Center.
