Plano West Senior High School principal Billie Jean Lee has been named the Lone Star State School Counselor Association’s 2026 Campus Administrator of the Year.

The LSSSCA recognizes leaders in a variety of roles for the important part they play in supporting students, strengthening school counseling programs and helping school counselors.

Ms. Lee was nominated by her lead counselor, Tracey Eubanks.

“Ms. Lee is a true advocate for programs and resources that strengthen our counseling services, helping students succeed academically, grow socially and emotionally, and prepare for college and careers,” Eubanks said. “The ASCA model is not an easy model to understand, but she truly understands our comprehensive guidance program. She is our biggest cheerleader. Through her inspiring leadership, she elevates the influence of school counseling at Plano West. She always promotes our efforts and speaks positively about us wherever she can, which motivates us to keep doing our best for students. Her support makes coming to school a joyful calling, knowing we are part of something greater because of her guidance.”

Lee will be honored at the annual LSSSCA gala in Frisco on Sunday, November 15, held at the Embassy Suites and Frisco Convention Center. Plano ISD congratulates Ms. Lee for her leadership and contributions to the Plano West community. Joining her in recognition will be:

  • Sofia Lopez, Irving ISD — Counselor Supervisor of the Year
  • Dr. Kristin Craft, Boerne ISD — Superintendent of the Year
  • Callie Roberts, Winnsboro ISD — Advocate of the Year
  • Twiana Collier, Region 4 ESC — Regional Education Service Center of the Year

“These recognitions celebrate the champions who stand alongside school counselors,” LSSSCA President Ashley Wright said. “Whether through leadership, advocacy, policy, resources, or simply using their voice to elevate the profession, these individuals help create the conditions that allow school counselors to do what they do best—support students.”
