  • History of Stinson

Stinson was popularly known as the "Who'd a Thought It" school, built in 1880 southwest of modern Stinson and Parker, and serving about 90 children. Its nickname derived from the parsimonious habits of James Francis Stinson, a large property owner in the area. According to family legend, he spent little money but donated the land for the school, which completely astounded all who knew him.
