He stated that one winner was unable to attend the event and that he will announce the winner at a later date. On May 23, at a technology department staff meeting, he announced the final winner. Congratulations to the following four Superintendent's Service Award winners.

    Superintendent Service Award winners

  • Ruby Kay Mutchler Beaty Early Childhood School PPCD Teaching Assistant

Ruby Kay Mutchler posing with her plaque Ruby Kay works daily to inspire children who have disabilities. She says, “Each child is a unique individual, much like a puzzle piece. Students all have unique personalities and ways of learning. This part of teaching is where I find that I shine - finding different ways in which children learn. This employee’s principal says, “There are no words that capture the true spirit of this amazing lady. She nurtures students like they were her own. She sets the bar high with rigorous expectations yet provides students with the necessary care, encouragement and support to reach it. However, the most important things that she brings to the classroom every day are her heart and a sense of joy and laughter."

  • Rosa Hernandez Food and Nutritional Services Manager Christie Elementary School

Rosa Hernandez posing with co-workers Rosa is described by Christie Principal Ryan Steele as an employee who is “making her mark with each and every student by celebrating activities in which they participate, working with P.E. teachers to train students on healthy eating habits and sharing her warm personality with everyone she meets." Mr. Steele describes Rosa as “gifted, thorough, driven and self-motivated. While she serves as our cafeteria manager, what she does each day far surpasses her title. She directly influences every student at our school."

  • Tracy Helms Clark High School Office Assistant

Tracy is currently working in the office of the high school that her three children attended. In fact, she once served as Clark High School PTSA president. “Starting high school is a big deal,” said Tracy. “My goal each day is to help students and parents feel that they are important and being helped in a positive, caring way.”  Clark Principal Janis Williams said that Tracy not only supports the staff and parents but she is keenly aware that the number one job in the school is to meet the needs of students. "When she came to our school, she cross-trained herself so that she could manage many jobs as they came up. She epitomizes ‘service before self’ and ‘teamwork,’" said Ms. Williams

  • Betty Bell Technology Help Desk Specialist

Dr. Binggeli with Betty Bell Betty has passionately helped people in Plano ISD for 16 years on the district's technology help desk staff, according to her nominator and colleague Randi Weaver. "Betty's direct contact with campus staff, students, parents and others utilizes her excellent customer service skills. She is patient and adept at working with end users with varying levels of technical knowledge," said Ms. Weaver. "Betty is always willing to stay after her shift to work on the many e-mails, voice messages and phone calls the help desk receives. She is also the technology support for eSchool, which requires the ability to work with all types of computer operating systems, Web browsers, personal computer settings and different virus protection software."
