Feb. 5, 2018 - Plano Senior High Orchestra Performs at Midwest Clinic

On December 20, the Plano Senior High School string orchestra performed at the prestigious 71st Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Illinois.  The Plano Orchestra has been selected for this distinguished honor three previous times in 1993, 1998 and 2003. To perform, groups undergo a rigorous application process judged by the foremost music educators in the profession.   

The Plano orchestra performed under the direction of Brian Coatney, director of orchestras; Chris Tran, associate director or orchestra; guest conductors Tara Cesario former associate director of orchestras; and former Band Director of Plano Senior High and now Instrumental Music Coordinator Jeremy Kondrat. The orchestra performed for musicians and directors from all over the U.S. and internationally.  Musical selections played by the orchestra at the Clinic were:

The Midwest Clinic began in 1946 and has a mission to strengthen international instrumental music education through extensive professional development opportunities, inspirational experiences and cultivation of rewarding professional relationships.
