Feb 7, 2018 - School Board Announces Superintendent Search Process and Timeline
The Plano ISD Board of Trustees outlined a process and timeline for hiring a new superintendent at the February 6 board meeting. The application is currently open to internal candidates. If an internal candidate is not selected, an external search process will commence on March 6.
Superintendent Search Timeline
February 6, 6:00 p.m. — Board Meeting Closed Session Discussion to define superintendent search process.
February 6, 7:00 p.m. — Board Meeting Open Session Consideration of superintendent search process for discussion and action.
February 7 — Job Description Posted Internally Position posted internally for ten business days on the district's Intranet site. Assistant Superintendent for Employee Services Dr. Beth Brockman serves as point of contact for applicants.
February 20, 12:00 p.m. — Application Closes Internal applications accepted until noon on February 20.
February 20, 5:00 p.m. — Closed Session Board to review applications, finalize interview process and select applicants for interview.
February 21, 22 & 24, as needed — Closed Session Interview and deliberation of candidates with discussion of next steps and actions.
March 6, 9:30 a.m. — Special Called Board Meeting If an internal candidate is selected, a lone finalist will be named. If an internal candidate is not named, an external search will be defined and will commence.
