Apr. 29, 2019 - Jasper High School Team Earns Second Place in the International Public Policy Forum
Jasper High School speech and debate students have progressed since the qualifying round in October all the way to the final round of the of the 2018-2019 International Public Policy Forum in New York City. Congratulations to:
The team has battled through multiple rounds to finish in second place in this international competition. They were victorious in Round 64, Top 32, Sweet 16. During the Elite 8 competitions they reached the finals finishing in second place overall. The IPPF finals give students the opportunity to participate in oral debates in front of some of the world’s foremost experts in debate, business, law and politics. "As sophomores, their second-place finish has earned the respect of all IPPF participants and $3,500 for the Jasper Speech and Debate program," said Tom McCaffrey Jasper speech and debate teacher.
