Future Plans

Howard Yen will attend Princeton University and pursue a major in computer science. He plans on attending graduate school followed by research in Artificial Intelligence or to become a software developer.


He has been involved in science fair, marketing competitions and coding competitions. He is the president of the chess club, Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, Junior State of America and Science Olympiad, and he is a member of computer club and Business Professionals of America (BPA).

Most Influential Teacher

Ms. Cheryl Curran, AP biology, is Howard Yen's most influential teacher. "She taught me the importance of balancing school work and extra curricular activities, as well as the intricacies of biology. As the Key Club sponsor, she also helped me learn the responsibilities of being the president."

Advice to Students

"Don’t be afraid of failures. Persevere and you’ll be rewarded."
