The Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program (PMSIP) is supported by dozens of local organizations, including Capital One who has served as presenting sponsor since the program launched in 2014.

“In six short years, we have seen the Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program grow from a small group of students and employers in its first year to over 120 in 2019,” said Mayor LaRosiliere. “We are so proud and appreciative of all of the companies and non-profits who step up every year to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth.”

Students who have been selected for internships will make a minimum of $10 an hour for 20-40-hours weekly. The summer internship program runs eight weeks from June 10 through Aug. 2 and concludes with a celebratory luncheon on July 29.

And in conjunction with the Mayor's Summer Internship Program, 26 Plano ISD teachers were interviewed for the PMSIP teacher “externships” program, along with a variety of other learning experiences offered by Toyota Motor North America and JPMorgan Chase. The two-week externships are being offered at Capital One, Children’s Health, Baylor Scott & White, Ericsson, Learning Forward, My Possibilities, NTT Data Services and the City of Plano. The Plano ISD Teacher Externship Program is powered by Capital One.
