    Dear Plano ISD Students and Parents,

    Plano ISD’s Exploring Pathways to College and Careers web page launched and offers an overview and videos of the wide variety of opportunities for students to meet College and Career readiness standards that enable them to be future-ready citizens and leaders in the global workforce. The videos include Career and Technical Education Programs of Study options that can assist students in planning their four-year plan. Visit the site at

  • An Important Message from the Registrar at PWSH

    Seniors – If you have a college deadline that falls between December 17th and January 4th, your transcript requests must be made in Naviance by December 14th.  If you are applying using the COMMON APP, please make your counselor aware and request your transcript by December 14th

    Transcript requests received after December 14th will not be sent until January 4th, 2022

     The Registrar’s Office will be closed between December 17th and January 3rd.  No one will be working over the break so we ask you to plan accordingly.

    Plano West Senior High is proud to congratulate Preston Pierce, PWSH Assoc. Band Director and the amazing Plano West Senior High Jazz Band members who chaired at the TMEA All-State Jazz Band competition:  

    Owen Underwood – Guitar - 1st in the state of Texas for the 2nd year in a row! (Jazz 1)

    Nicolo Boselli – Alto Sax - 3rd in the state of Texas (Lead Alto-Jazz 2)

    Maxwell Moore – Trumpet - 7th in the state of Texas (2nd Trumpet-Jazz 2)

    Alex Heidelbaugh – Tenor Trombone - 6th in the state of Texas (3rd Trombone-Jazz 2)

    Cade Medearis – Bass - 3rd in the state of Texas (1st alternate)

  • 2022 Graduation Information Announcement

    Plano ISD senior high schools will celebrate graduation on Saturday, June 4, with three momentous ceremonies at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. We look forward to honoring our 2022 graduates. More details will be available on the graduation webpage soon:

  • College Board Opportunity Scholarships

    Juniors can qualify for $500 College Board Opportunity Scholarships by completing any of the college planning steps below. When a student completes all 6, they will be entered into a drawing for a $40,000 scholarship!!!

    Step 1. Build Your College List: $500 (Going on now - June 2021)
    Get started by exploring colleges you're interested in on BigFuture.

    Step 2. Practice for the SAT: $500 (Going on now - June 2021)
    Use Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy® to get ready for test day.

    Step 3. Explore Scholarships: $500 (Scholarships Awarded starting July 2021)
    Find scholarships and other aid to help you pay for college.

    Step 4. Strengthen Your College List: $500 (Scholarships Awarded starting July 2021)
    Make sure your college list has a mix of safety, match, and reach schools.

    Step 5. Complete the FAFSA: $500 (Scholarships Awarded starting October 2021)
    Fill out the free government form to apply for financial aid.

    Step 6. Apply to Colleges: $500 (Scholarships Awarded starting October 2021)
    Apply to the schools you want to attend.

    Complete Your Journey: $40,000
    Complete all six scholarship steps to be eligible for a $40,000 scholarship.

  • Free Meals for All Plano ISD Students

    Due to a USDA waiver, all Plano ISD students (face-to-face & School@Home) will receive free breakfast & lunch meals while USDA funds are available. For curbside pickup locations, schedules & docs you should bring if student is not present, visit

  • Free and Reduced Meal Applications

    Free and reduced meal applications are now available at If you have never filled out a meal application, just click on “Create a New Account.” Student eligibility status from the 2019-2020 school year will roll over only for the first 30 operating days of school or until a new application has been processed. It is important that households complete an application for the 2020-2021 school year as soon as possible. Households should allow 10 business days for application processing.
