City of Richardson, Black History Month Art Contest Winners

The City of Richardson's inaugural Black History Month Art Contest was open to students in prekindergarten to twelfth grade who live in the City of Richardson or attend a school in Richardson. One winner was named in each of the four age categories. Students were asked to create a visual image that displays how their unique beliefs and values contribute to our diverse community and help promote inclusion.
Two Stinson Elementary art students have won their age categories. Entries were judged on artistic excellence, originality and reflection of the theme. Winners were awarded $100 and their work will be published in Richardson Today and will be recognized at a Richardson City Council meeting. Congratulations to all competitors and these winning students:

This contest is intended to promote, embrace and celebrate the diversity and inclusion that is present in Richardson and across the nation. The contest is sponsored by the Richardson City Council, in partnership with Richardson ISD, Plano ISD and UT Dallas, and was among several activities and events in Richardson to celebrate MLK, Jr. Day and Black History Month.
