Bond Proposal Presented to Board of Trustees

The Future Forward Task Force presented their 2022 bond proposal to the Board of Trustees during the August 2 board meeting. The presentation was led by Task Force Co-Chairs Rick Cinclair and Marshall Jackson.During several meetings conducted this school year, the task force reviewed enrollment trends and projections, established construction and renovation needs and validated costs before making recommendations to the school board Many of the Task Force sub-committee chairs were in attendence to offer their personal experiences and expertise regarding site visits to neighboring districts and campuses around Plano.

The presentation covered the committee's decision making process, information studied and overall workflow. Next, the total amount for the bond was defined and broken into 4 different propositions:
Proposition A: $1,164,371,000
- District-wide renovations
- Safety & security
- Infrastructure
- Transportation
- Fine Arts
- Technology Infrastructure
- Campus Athletics
- CTE & innovative programs
Proposition B: $173,450,000
- Instructional technology
Proposition C: $130,000,000
- Plano ISD Event Center
Proposition D: $27,817,000
- Stadium renovations
- Turf upgrades
The Board of Trustees is set to vote on the bond proposal during an upcoming work session on August 16, 2022. If confirmed, the bond will be on the ballot during the 2022 midterm elections, with an election date of November 8, 2022.
