Education Foundation Named Plano Chamber Community Partner of the Year

During the November 4 school board meeting, the Plano ISD Education Foundation, a 501(c)3) nonprofit organization, was recognized by the board of trustees for their Community Partner of the Year award from the Plano Chamber of Commerce’s Best of Plano. This top achievement award honors and recognizes an outstanding non-profit each year.
The Education Foundation (foundation) powered by the generosity of their donors and corporate partners, helps all students in the district achieve their full potential by providing financial support to educators and academic programs. According to Board President Tammy Richards, "The foundation funding in support of learning experiences, opens doors and helps all students to achieve their dreams. Our city and our community is strengthened by each student who graduates ready to lead a successful life."
Attending the board recognition along with the Foundation Senior Executive Director Jamee Jolly were Tim McCoy of InTouch Credit Union who is the 2020-21 foundation board president and the foundation’s immediate past president, Jennifer Jamieson.

Superintendent Bonser stated in her remarks, "To receive this award during a pandemic, speaks volumes about the foundation, the foundation leadership and their commitment to their mission and to the mission of the district."
The district is thankful to the many foundation partners and the Education Foundation leadership and looks forward to what the future will bring as the foundation continues to grow and flourish.
