The fifth grade robotics team, Miles of Smiles, from Barksdale Elementary competed in the First Lego League Regional Qualifier this past weekend. Their innovation project on transporting animals won first place in the competition.
These students took their project to the next level by holding a pet toy drive at their school and donating all proceeds to Operation Kindness, a no-kill animal shelter located in Carrollton, Texas.
