Plano ISD was well-represented at the Collin County Spelling Bee held on February 16. The event featured the top two spellers from each district in the county.

42 students competed for one of four spots in the Dallas Regional Spelling Bee. Two of those spots will be filled by Plano ISD students Faizan Zaki, a 5th grader at Skaggs Elementary, and Faris Zafar, a 7th grader at Rice Middle School. After 16 rounds, Faris advanced by correctly spelling the word Nahcolite, while Faizan spelled the word Uraeus. 

Congratulations to Faizan and Faris, and best of L-U-C-K at the regional bee on March 11.
