Congratulations to Skaggs Elementary Fifth Grade Student Faizan Zaki for winning a co-championship at the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee held at Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Faizan competed against 26 other students and was flawless throughout the competition! He has earned an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. where he will represent Skaggs and Plano ISD at the National Scripps Spelling Bee from May 30-June 1, 2023, beginning with the preliminary round. 

Faizan is an active Star student at Skaggs. He is in the Plano Academic and Creative Education (PACE) Program and a member of the Math Rocks program.

We are Plano ISD proud of Faizan, and wish him the very best at nationals!
