Plano ISD Students Place High at International Science and Engineering Fair

On May 18th and 19th, winners were announced in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. Student winners are ninth through twelfth graders who earned the right to compete at the Regeneron ISEF 2023 fair by winning a top prize at a regional, state, or national science fair.

This year, more than 1,600 high school students from more than 60 countries, regions, and territories were awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and competed for approximately $8 million in prizes.
Plano ISD had ten projects advanced to international competition by the Dallas Regional Science and Engineering Fair (DRSEF) and the Texas Science and Engineering Fair (TxSEF). Five projects captured category grand awards - one 4th place award, one 2nd place award, and three 1st place awards. Additionally, six projects received eight special awards. Altogether, Plano ISD students received more than $200,000 in scholarships and prize money.
