Plano Senior High School Football's Jack Thomason received Dave Campbell's Texas Football Inspirational Leadership Award on Tuesday after morning practice. The award was given presented to Jack by Clayton Hackler, DCTF Sales and Events Associate, and by Brayla Walker of First National Bank of Omaha, the sponsor for the award.

Jack is the second Plano ISD student-athlete to earn this award this school year, which is impressive considering that only 10 high school football players in the state were chosen.

"Jack is an outstanding leader, a young man of impeccable character and an outstanding student," said PSHS Head Football Coach Cody White, who nominated Thomason. "He has navigated a coaching change with grace and has led our team beginning in the Spring in a way that inspires confidence in his teammates. He also does everything the right way and serves the community. There is no doubt that he will continue to make a difference in any organizations he is involved in as he moves on to be a student at Texas A&M next year."

"Learning from all the quarterbacks ahead of me, I have stepped into that role as a leader and just doing everything I can to be there for my teammates," Thomason said. "Leadership is doing everything possible to support your guys, teachers and the whole community. It is hard and comes with a lot of responsibility, but it is a fun thing to do."

Last month, Plano East Wide Receiver Josh Palma earned the Inspirational Leadership Award.

Congratulations to Jack from the entire Plano ISD community!
