Plano ISD Mourns a Legacy: Coach John Clark

January 31, 2023

The Plano ISD family is deeply saddened by the passing of Coach John Clark. Coach Clark led the Plano Senior High Wildcats football program to two state championships as the Head Coach in 1967 and 1971. He also won a state title as Assistant Head Coach in 1965. After leaving coaching, Clark helped lead Plano to three more titles as the district’s Athletic Director. He is a member of the Plano ISD Hall of Honor and was inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor in 1979. His legacy lives on through the students, athletes and coaches that he inspired and as the namesake of Plano ISD’s Clark Stadium. Plano ISD is grateful for Coach Clark’s commitment to excellence and dedication to caring. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Clark family.
