The Plano ISD community thanked retiring Board President David Stolle with a special recognition ceremony at Plano Senior High School on Monday, May 1, 2023, to honor him for 12 years of service.

The event featured performances from the Wildcat Band and Planoette Drill Team, remarks from Superintendent Dr. Theresa Williams, former Superintendent Sara Bonser, Former Plano Head Football Coach Tom Kimbrough and PSHS Principal Jeff Banner. Additionally, Plano Mayor John Muns presented a proclamation announcing May 1, 2023, as David Stolle Day. President Stolle was also honored by the City of Richardson. Board Vice President Nancy Humphrey and former Board President Missy Bender also thanked Mr. Stolle.

Mr. Stolle is a product of Plano ISD, attending Davis Elementary through fifth grade before his family moved to East Texas. Although he graduated from Palestine High School, Mr. Stolle was declared an honorary member of the Plano Wildcat Family by Wildcat superfans and community advocates Rick Cinclair and Marshall Jackson. The event was capped by a graduation ceremony featuring Board Vice President Humphrey, Board Secretary Jeri Chambers and Trustee Dr. Heather Wang presenting Mr. Stolle with an honorary Plano Senior High diploma.

Mr. Stolle was elected to three terms, serving twice as Vice President, before being elected by his fellow trustees to serve as president in 2021. During his tenure on the board, Plano ISD passed two bonds, a Tax Ratification Election (TRE), and a Voter Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE).
