Plano ISD is excited to announce that Toyota Motor North America has generously committed an additional $250,000 to further enhance STEM programming and curriculum within Plano ISD schools. The announcement was made during a ceremony at the Toyota North America Headquarters in Plano on Wednesday, September 24, 2024.

This additional support from Toyota will directly benefit Plano ISD’s robotics programs and summer STEM initiatives, specifically focusing on reaching students who have traditionally lacked access to these opportunities. The funding will also contribute to the development of industry-aligned curriculum in the areas of cybersecurity and engineering. This will play a foundational role in shaping new courses and programs at our forthcoming Career and Technical Education Center, slated to open in Fall 2026.

By bringing their innovative thinking into the walls of our classrooms, Toyota is empowering our students to see themselves as future leaders and innovators. Their continued support and investment demonstrate a real commitment to the sustainability of our community, the strength of our future workforce and most importantly, the potential of our Plano ISD students.”
In addition to their financial contributions, Toyota team members are actively involved in mentoring students at Plano ISD's Academy High School. Through a semester-long program, these mentors guide students in using the Toyota problem-solving method to address real-world challenges, providing valuable hands-on learning opportunities. Since 2017, Toyota has also supported 14 youth in the Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program.
