State UIL 6A Wrestling Champion

Tagen Jamison a graduating senior at Plano West Senior High, was recognized by the Board of Trustees for his 2021 UIL state wrestling championship at the June 22 meeting. Tagen is the first male wrestler in Plano ISD wrestling history to win two state wrestling championships. He earned a gold medal as a sophomores in 2019, a silver medal in 2020 and a gold as a senior in 2021 in his 138 pound weight class. According to Jeff Smith, director of athletics for Plano ISD, Tagen is ranked 15th in the nation and will be attending the University of Minnesota on a full scholarship. 

Taking home silver at the 2021 state meet were Plano West senior Devin Patton and junior Farid Mobarak. Devin Patton was a state champion in 2020. The Plano West Senior High wrestling team finish in sixth place.
