Capital One Gifts $50,000 to Support the Welcome & Enrollment Center
June 1, 2022
For multiple years, Capital One has partnered with the Plano ISD Education Foundation (PISDEF) to benefit our Plano ISD community of students, staff and families.
This July, Capital One generously gifted $50,000 to the PISDEF to help Plano ISD better serve families. For the second consecutive year, Capital One's generous support is helping to fund efforts to help care for our most vulnerable families through the Welcome and Enrollment Center. In 2021-22, Capital One grant funds helped open the Center, housed at the Bird Education Center. This Center provides childcare services, classrooms, a health clinic, food pantry, clothing closet, counseling services and enrollment assistance.
This initiative also encompasses family engagement and includes workforce and financial literacy education. Our partnership with Capital One also allows the Welcome Center to continue to provide classroom and mobile opportunities for families to attend financial educational workshops.

Thanks to this year's $50,000 grant from Capital One, Plano ISD is able to expand on the workforce skills training offered in 2021-22, as well as explore more financial literacy curriculum options. The Plano ISD Mobile Technology Lab will be available to travel to various locations (homeless shelters, community centers, apartments, faith-based institutions, and/or centralized locations) to provide financial literacy and workforce skills training classes to families who may not have their own transportation.
Thank you Capital One for your valuable partnership and your belief in the mission and vision of Plano ISD.
