Baylor Scott & White THE Heart Hospital Baylor Plano and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Plano have jointly gifted the Plano ISD Education Foundation (PISDEF) with $35,000 to serve the district's students and families with the greatest need through services at the Plano ISD Welcome and Enrollment Center clinic. The Center, which opened in July 2021, provides families with a central location to learn about and receive wraparound services provided by the district and community partners. Services and resources offered at the center include: food pantry, clothing closet, counseling, academic planning, job and career support services, GED classes, English language education, financial literacy classes, family engagement and parent resources along with health and wellness services such as the clinic supported in this grant.

The health and wellness services provided at the Welcome and Enrollment Center Health Clinic are key components of the support this unique facility is able to offer to Plano ISD families. Via the clinic, the district provides students and families with much-needed services such as free immunizations, health screenings, telehealth services, mental health services, family therapy, dental exams, free eye exams and glasses, COVID testing, Medicaid/CHIP application assistance, healthy living and prevention classes and more.
