CoServ Charitable Foundation Supports Grants to Educators with $10,000 Sponsorship

April 5, 2022

The Plano ISD Education Foundation (PISDEF), is grateful to the CoServ Charitable Foundation for its multi-year support of the PISDEF Grants to Educators program. In 2022, the CoServ Charitable Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization, donated $10,000 joining sponsors Park Place Lexus and HEB to help make this grants program possible for our Plano ISD learning community. Each year the PISDEF Grants to Educators program is able to surprise more than 100 teachers with grants totaling nearly $125,000 thanks to sponsors like CoServ. Read more about Grants to Educators.

Education Foundation Vice President presents grant award to surprised teachers

Education Foundation Vice President Jenna Maynard (left) presents Huffman Elementary teacher Miranda Smith with her winning grant for a sensory community garden. At Huffman, fifth graders formed a Garden Club to better use the existing garden space on campus. The garden is structured in three tiers going up a retaining wall. The students' vision is to create a sensory garden to serve the wide spectrum of needs of their peers throughout the school. They would also plan to develop the vegetable section of the garden so that they can produce fresh food to contribute to the food pantry on campus.

Annually, CoServe distributes approximately $280,000 to 23 area education foundations. The Plano ISD Education Foundation is extremely thankful to be a recipient of their generosity. Since 2020, the PISDEF and the Plano ISD community have benefited from $60,000 in donations from CoServ.
