Plano West UIL Speech Team, which competed at the District Tournament this past Saturday and had an absolutely amazing weekend!

Please join us in congratulating our incredible District Competitors:

Anika Cherukuri, the District Champion in Prose Interpretation, who has qualified for the Regional Tournament!

Shiloh Wilson, our Prose District Runner-Up, and Peter Yoon, who secured Third Place, also qualifying for the Regional Tournament!

Giovanni Munthali, District Runner-Up in Poetry Interpretation and will also be heading to Regionals.

Abraham Zhang, who took Third Place in Informative Speaking, qualifying him for Regionals as well.

Our talented alternates include Ryan Xu and Anshul Khandekar, who placed Fourth and Fifth, respectively.

In Persuasion, we celebrate Kaitlyn Fan, our District Champion, who has qualified for Regionals. Timothy Chen is our second alternate with a Fifth Place finish.

Lastly, a huge round of applause for Sasha Morel, the District Champion in Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Jasper Sophomore, Chad Henderson, who placed Third and will be representing Plano West at Regionals!

We are very proud to announce that the Speech Team won the UIL Speech District Sweepstakes Championship, a testament to their hard work and dedication. 

This was a significant weekend for Plano West —it marked the conclusion of the UIL Academics Districts, where the Wolfpack fought from being 6th in the district to being named Runner-Ups in the UIL District Competition.
