About PreK Education in Plano ISD
The Plano ISD Pre-K program provides a language and literacy enriched environment where children have hands-on opportunities for learning. Our child-centered program follows the developmentally appropriate practices outlined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
The curriculum framework follows the Texas Pre-kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines and provides an instructional program that is vertically aligned with the Kindergarten Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

2026-2027 Pre-K Enrollment
Enroll Your PRE-K Student for the 2026-2027 school year
Student must be four years of age on or before September 1, 2026.
Must live within the Plano ISD boundaries or be the child/grandchild of a full time Plano ISD employee.
High Quality Pre-K
Plano ISD participates in the state's High Quality Pre-kindergarten Grant. This means the that Plano ISD's Pre-K programs agreed to use a curriculum aligned with the Pre-kindergarten Guidelines, increase prekindergarten teacher training and/or qualifications, implement student progress monitoring, provide kindergarten readiness results and develop quality family engagement plans.
