Student Transfers

If your student is currently on an intra-district transfer to a campus and would like to remain at the same campus, or move on to the current feeder school (elementary to middle school, middle school to high school, or high school to senior high), you do not need to submit a new transfer form.

If your student is currently on an inter-district (Non-Plano ISD resident) transfer, please do not request a new transfer in April.

All current inter-district  transfers will be renewed each year through your student’s online Skyward Annual Forms.

If you move out of the Plano ISD district during the school year and you wish for your child to stay at their current Plano ISD school the remainder of the school year, you will need to complete an Inter-District Transfer form to continue attending their current school as a non-resident student.

• Please contact Welcome & Enrollment Centers to obtain the inter-district transfer form.
• Along with the transfer form, please submit a new proof of residency.

If there is a move over the summer, or your family moves into or out of the 
Plano ISD attendance zone, please email the Welcome and Enrollment Centers.

Sibling status is not a guarantee for transfer approval. Each request to transfer to attend a school outside a student's attendance area with his or her sibling shall be evaluated as all other requests and shall not be given preference. Building capacity, current enrollment, growth projections, teacher allocation (addition or reduction), class size, boundary issues are taken into consideration each year when considering transfer availability.  Any sibling must meet all criteria for transfer eligibility.

Yes. If afterschool care is offered at the campus your student attends on transfer, they may participate in that program on a fee basis, as long as space is available.

Transfers are not considered after the start of a semester, except in extenuating circumstances as determined by Plano ISD.

Mid-Year Intra-District Transfer Requests

Transfer requests for second/spring semester will be accepted in the month of December.
