The first step in taking an eSchool course is to meet with your campus counselor to discuss if the courses work with your specific graduation plan.

Yes, the courses offered through eSchool are accredited through Plano ISD. 

Yes. eSchool is designed for students currently enrolled in a PISD school.

Plano ISD eSchool offers a variety of courses. Please see eSchool Courses & Registration for a full listing of the courses offered.

To ensure student success, we recommend that students enroll in no more than 2 courses at one time.  Each semester course earns 0.5 credit.

We encourage you to balance your eSchool course load with your current schedule. If you are a full-time student, you should consult with your school counselor to design a plan that best fits your schedule and graduation plan.

Please Note:
Students needing both semesters of a course must register for and complete the first semester before registering to take the second semester of that same course.

For graduating classes of 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 - No. For Plano ISD students, grades earned in eSchool courses are not used in computing class rankings. eSchool courses have a neutral impact on a student’s GPA and class rankings. 

For the graduating class of 2030 and all future graduating classes, courses will be weighted on a 4.0 scale.

eSchool course credit is awarded through Plano ISD and is transferable within the United States and internationally. If you are currently enrolled in school and intend to take an eSchool course for graduation credit, we recommend that you contact your school counselor to receive official approval and to ensure proper recording of eSchool courses on your transcript.

No. eSchool courses are only for Plano ISD students.

When you leave PISD, you will lose access to the district network and your course(s). As soon as you know you are withdrawing from the district, please contact your eSchool teacher and the eSchool office. You will need to finish your course while you still have access. We will need to add the course credit to your transcript before you enroll in your new school.

Plano ISD students who have finished 7th grade may enroll in our Health course in the summer before 8th grade. For all other courses, students who successfully pass 8th grade are eligible to take eSchool courses in the summer before 9th grade. Discuss the possibilities with your school counselor.  

A chromebook, laptop, or desktop computer with Google Chrome Browser. Plano ISD monitors all assessments with an extension so students need to be signed into their Plano ISD account in the Chrome browser with the Sync turned on in order to avoid issues.

Tablets, iPads, and phones will not work properly with eSchool courses.

Tuition for eSchool courses is currently $340 per .5 semester credit. Some courses may require the purchase of additional materials not included in the tuition fee. Financial aid is provided to students on reduced and free lunch plans. Please note there is a merchant fee that is 4.5% of the total for online payments. Cash payments are accepted in person at the address below:

Within 15 calendar days of online registration, students may cancel enrollment and receive a reimbursement of tuition, as per the enrollment agreement. A fee of $30.00 will be retained for administrative expenses and RevTrak fees will not be reimbursed. If a student is dropped from an eSchool course for not communicating with his/her teacher and adhering to the schedule for completing and turning in assignments, tuition will not be reimbursed.

Registration for eSchool courses is ongoing. Therefore, each student’s start date is unique. The course will officially start when the eSchool office sends you your welcome letter via email. This email will contain all the information you need to begin working on your course. Please contact the eSchool office at eschool@pisd.edu if it has been over one week, and you have not received any communication.

We expect eSchool courses to be completed in a maximum of 18 weeks. The course will be set up to reflect the maximum amount of time allowed to complete an online course, and may not be applicable to you. If you need or want to complete a course more quickly, your teacher can help you set your schedule.

You should register no more than one week before you wish to start your course. The eSchool office does not hold registrations and will process registrations as they come through the office. Most registrations are processed within five business days from the registration date. Once you are assigned to a course and email notifications are sent out, you are expected to begin working on the course.

 Absolutely! Ask your student to share a Course Report from Edgenuity with you (Student Course Report Tutorial). Additionally we can setup progress reports to be emailed - if interested please email eschool@pisd.edu once you receive your student's Welcome Email

Typically, students should finish their eSchool courses 2 weeks before the end of the spring semester to allow time to process grades and add the courses to the transcript. It is the student's responsibility to discuss course completion dates with their eSchool teacher.

Plano ISD students who qualify for free and reduced-price meals may qualify for a discount on eSchool courses. Courses must be paid in full before students are enrolled in their eSchool course.
