• Celebrating Our Class of 2020

Graduation plans for the Class of 2020 can be found on the district's graduation webpage.

Please help us to celebrate the Senior Class of 2020! We know this has been a very difficult spring for our seniors. We as a campus and district want to make sure that we do all we can in these difficult times to remember and celebrate them.

A series of virtual events are planned for May using the Plano West Twitter account and the Plano West website. If you don’t have a Twitter account follow the Twitter stream on this page. The planned activities are explained below.

    Public Health Awareness

Plano ISD and Plano West Senior High School recognize the ongoing need to practice social distancing and follow interaction guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). All senior celebration events are optional and participation by either students or staff is not required

  • Feeder School Celebrations:

Be on the lookout for our feeder schools to be celebrating our seniors through social media. Check the schools' websites for their social media platforms.

    • Mondays - Elementary Schools
    • Tuesdays - Middle Schools
    • Wednesdays - High School
  • Social Media Take Over Day:

Plano West senior students will be taking over the district's social media on Wednesday, May 20, between the hours of 7:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m. Follow Plano ISD on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

  • Theme Days

May is “Celebrate our Seniors Month.” Throughout the month of May, seniors will be celebrated through the Plano West Twitter page @PWSHWolves on Fridays in honor of each week's theme. You are encouraged to share your pictures on Twitter and tag @PWSHWolves and use the following hashtag on all social media platforms, #WolfpackSeniors2020, so that Plano ISD can share on their social media accounts, as well.

Facebook Frames: Facebook users, you can add a frame to your profile picture to celebrate the Plano West Senior High School Class of 2020, customized by the district especially for:

  • Week of April 27 - May 1: “All About My Senior”

We encourage parents to tweet words of celebration, encouragement or memories for your Senior.  Please consider including a picture of your Senior in Plano West spirit wear, tshirt from an activity, a sport or school activity action shot, etc. Parents and students have the option to use these templates to add the picture and share to your social media accounts. Celebrating Seniors Template.

When you share to social media tag @PWSHWolves on Twitter and use the #WolfpackSeniors2020 hashtag on Twitter and other social media.

  • Week of May 4 - May 8: “A Celebrity Lives Here”

Parents are encouraged to decorate their front door, so the community will know a Senior Celebrity lives there and can join in on the celebration.  Take a picture of your Senior in front of your door and tweet out and tag us  @PWSHWolves and use the #WolfpackSeniors2020 hashtag.

We also encourage parents to make a Star with your child’s name on it and a Wolfpack head in the middle to put on your sidewalk to celebrate your senior (just like if they were on the Hollywood Walk of Fame). Just think how many people may pass this Wolfpack Walk of Fame on their daily walks! It could even be a coordinated effort in a neighborhood where multiple seniors live.

  • Week of May 11 - May 15: ”Oh, the Places You Will Go”

Our 2020 Seniors will go so many places in the coming year.  Take a picture that represents your next steps after high school whether it is college, career, military, gap year or many other possibilities.  Take a picture with a logo, tshirt, etc that illustrates your next steps.  Please tweet out and tag us @PWSHWolves and use the #WolfpackSeniors2020 hashtag. Parents and students have the option to use these templates to add the picture and share to your social media accounts. Celebrating Seniors Template.

  • Week of May 18 - May 22: “Senior Sunset”

We began the year with a Senior Sunrise and will continue the tradition of a Senior Sunset, although virtually.  Capture a great photo of your grad just before the sun sets in their cap & gown.  If you don’t have a cap & gown, wear Plano West spirit wear while practicing social distancing.  Email the pictures to Molly Rich at molly.rich@pisd.edu by Friday, May 22nd for compilation of a Senior Sunset Video to be released the following week.

In addition to the email submission, you may also tweet the photos and tag us  @PWSHWolves and use the hashtags #WolfpackSeniors2020 and #PWSHSeniorSunset.  Additionally, we will be sending out highlight videos provided by Plano West Student Organizations throughout the week via a YouTube link on Twitter.  Parents and students have the option to use these templates to add the picture and share to your social media accounts.
