Plano ISD will celebrate graduation on June 8, 2009, with three momentous ceremonies at the Dallas Convention Center. For the first time ever, live coverage of graduation will be provided on a local WFAA digital channel and via web cast on WFAA.com. Friends and family near and far will be able to take part in this milestone event. At each ceremony, hundreds of graduating seniors will be honored, while more than 7,000 excited family members and friends fill the seats of the Dallas Convention Center to commemorate the occasion.

Suggested DART park-and-ride locations:

• Downtown Plano Station at 15th Street and Avenue J (1001 E. 16th St., Plano, 75074); Parking is available at the Plano ISD Cox Building, 1517 Avenue H, Plano, Texas 75074 – 150 spots.
• Spring Valley Station at Spring Valley Road (near the intersection of W. Spring Valley Road and Lingco Drive), east of North Central Expressway in Richardson (100 W. Spring Valley Road, Richardson 75081).

Tickets & Admission

Students will be issued a ticket book at their schools. The number of admission tickets issued will be based upon the number of graduates to be accommodated at the facility. Seating will be general admission. A partitioned area for handicap seating will be available on the convention floor.

Live on TV & Internet

For the first time ever, Plano ISD will broadcast graduation ceremonies live on digital television and via web cast. Interested parties can record these ceremonies. Family and friends near and far will be able to take part in this milestone event.

The television broadcast will air on a WFAA digital channel and the web cast will be available at wfaa.com. Tune in live the day of the events on the following channels and website.

Post-Event Broadcasts

The three graduation ceremonies will be replayed throughout the summer on Plano ISD’s Time Warner cable channel 99 and on Verizon FIOS Channel 33 beginning on June 15, 2009. Airing times and dates are:

• 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday - Plano East Senior High School
• 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday - Plano West Senior High School
• 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday - Plano Senior High School

(Airings may be affected by regularly scheduled programming such as School Board Meeting replays.) These airings can also be recorded.

Photo & DVD Orders

Flash Photography will photograph each graduate and mail proofs at no charge within a few days of the ceremony. Orders can be placed on the company website: http://www.flashphotography.com.
