The Teacher of the Year Gala has been a long-standing, treasured tradition in Plano ISD because it honors the dedicated, heartfelt work of employees. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, Plano ISD is developing creative alternatives to in-person celebrations—because not celebrating our employees’ hard work is not an option. More information is forthcoming. In the meantime, here are some quick details:

2021 Teacher of the Year Gala - Week of May 10

This year’s Teacher of the Year celebration will include some online and social media elements, culminating in a virtual gala hosted via Zoom on Thursday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. A more detailed schedule will be shared in the near future. Here are some additional details: 

• All Teacher of the Year nominees will receive a special delivery to their campuses the week of May 10 to help create a festive celebration at home. We will provide hashtags and other details soon that will help the communications department share your at-home celebrations. 
• All nominees, the Top 10 Excellence in Teaching Award winners and the 2021 Plano ISD Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year will also be featured via the Plano ISD website and social media the week of May 10.
