This is my 2nd year being a Speech Therapist with the Virtual Academy. I am part-time with the Virtual Academy and part-time with the Home School/Private School team.
I grew up in Tennessee but moved to Plano when I was 17 and graduated from Plano Senior High School. After I attended Baylor University where I received my undergraduate degree and master's in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, I worked in many settings as a pediatric Speech Therapist before coming to work with Plano ISD in 2012.
I love spending time with my family and friends, playing games, watching movies, reading, exercising, and traveling. I am married to John Contoveros, whose parents came to America from Greece. We have 3 children: Timothy (23), a mechanical engineer, Christina (21), a UNT graduate student studying Speech-Language Pathology, and Elizabeth (18), a freshman at the University of Arkansas studying nursing.
We have 2 rescue dogs that keep us busy and keep us laughing with all the funny things they do. Sugar is an 11-year-old white miniature poodle and Ollie is a 4-year-old tan mini doodle.
I love helping my students improve their communication skills while playing games and using videos to make learning more fun and interactive. I am looking forward to seeing my students from last year that are returning and meeting some new students too.
