Our Cottontail Bendi took a moment to send an email to the Communications department. I think she really wants to be featured in the District Digest! Bendi was brought to us as a baby rabbit, or "kitten". She lost her mother in an accident and was raised by one of our staff who are permitted to care for and rehabilitate wild cottontail rabbits. The best situation for any wild animal is to be released into the wild once they are healthy, but due to her injuries, Bendi would not survive in the wild, so she has become our educational cottontail ambassador in the Living Material Center. Look for her next time your class comes to Holifield.
