Plano ISD and the Plano ISD Education Foundation honored several companies, agencies and organizations for their generous investment during the 2023-24 school year with the Partners in Education (PIE) luncheon and recognition event on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Robinson Fine Arts Center.

Honorees made a profound impact by investing in Plano ISD and the Education Foundation to support students, staff and programs through monetary donations, volunteer efforts and talent support. These partners are instrumental in helping Plano ISD create opportunities for a successful future for students by building pathways for them to learn, grow and compete at the highest levels. The support from these partnerships have helped facilitate college, career and military readiness, work-based learning, internships, mentorships, field trips, scholarships and comprehensive support services for students and families. They have also enhanced professional development for our staff, offering externships, and bolstering their dedication. Altogether, this year's partner contributions have exceeded $3,394,000!

The event also featured the announcement of a new grant that will be awarded to a teacher or campus who applies for Grants to Educator funds for initiatives that promote student academic success by supporting the whole family. The Dr. Betty Bell Muns Grant for Student & Family Engagement was named after Dr. Betty Bell Muns, a longtime supporter of Plano ISD and the Education Foundation and generously provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding to support students, families and teachers in the district. Mrs. Muns passed away on April 30, 2024, and this grant aims to honor her legacy by continuing to support transformative ideas that benefit families and students in Plano ISD. The award was accepted on her behalf by members of the Betty & James Muns Foundation.
