The SME-EF (Society of Manufacturing Engineers - Education Foundation)/PLTW (Project Lead The Way) Gateway Academy Summer Youth Program is a hands-on, project-based camp designed to introduce middle school students to the fundamentals of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM).
Certified PLTW instructors provide expert instruction in small group settings. Students work together in a fun, exciting environment using leading-edge technologies to sample a variety of engineering activities and projects.
Enrollment will open March 1, 2020 and will close at 9 PM on May 22, 2020.
Due to the current situation with Covid-19 we are temporarily suspending online registration for all summer school programs. Please continue to check back for updates. Thank you!
(utilizing the Plano ISD Summer School/SIGS Busses)
The Gateway Academy Summer engineering camp occurs at three different sites. A Plano ISD bus will run from each PISD elementary school to the camp site that the elementary feeds to. Bus schedules (including pick-up/drop-off times) will be available prior to the start of camp, approximately the middle of May.
NOTE: In order for students to ride the bus, they must live in the attendance zone for the bus stop.
Refunds for tuition payments will not be made after May 22, 2020.
