• Lunch and Snacks

Children receive a mid-morning snack, a nutritious lunch, and an afternoon snack each day. Monthly tuition includes lunch and two snacks per day for all children who are able to eat table food. Monthly menus are posted on the main bulletin board and each classroom bulletin board. Formula, breast milk and pureed baby food must be provided by the child’s parents or legal guardians until the child is developmentally able and willing to eat the food provided by the child care center. Children may not share food brought from home with one another. Lunch is prepared by an outside caterer.

Due to the potential risks associated with peanut allergies in young children, the centers are a nut-free zone. The centers do not use or allow peanut products to be used in food preparation, art projects, or special events. Products containing nuts and nut by-products are not used in the preparation of meals and snacks.

If a child has dietary needs other than the snack or lunch provided, the parent may send an appropriate lunch or snack.  State licensing requires that if a parent is choosing to provide the child’s meals and/ or snacks from home, then the parent understands the child care center is not responsible for its nutritional value or for meeting the child’s daily food needs. No credit will be given for sending an alternate lunch or snack. We encourage parents to help protect all children by not sending any nuts or nut products in food from home. We request that parents provide a healthy lunch or snack; no candy, gum, soda, etc. please.
