Dr. Wilma Sifonte
Hola!
I am a native of Puerto Rico. I grew up surrounded by mountains and beautiful beaches. My husband and I moved to Texas to pursue graduate school in 2007. I attended the University of Texas where I graduated with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Texas A&M College Station, where I graduated with a Doctoral degree in Education.
I started my career as a Theater Arts teacher and loved the fun and creative side of education. While a high school teacher, I started working as a reading tutor and that experience sparked my interest in the reading process. It was then that I found my true passion, teaching elementary children to read, think, create, and find their voices. Now as an administrator, my role is to support teachers, students and families in their teaching and learning journey.
I love reading, traveling, hiking and learning about art. One of my favorite places is the Dallas Museum of Art because they have a phenomenal collection and bring in amazing masterpieces from around the world.
