Welcome to Haun Elementary
Home of the Huskies
Dr. Denise Lohmiller
This marks my third year as the Haun Elementary principal. It has been a pleasure getting to know the families and students. Each year, we gain new families to the neighborhood and I love seeing our community grow!
I grew up in Mesquite, Texas. After high school, I graduated from Texas Woman’s University and made my way up north to Wisconsin with my family, and there I met my husband, John. Yes, he is an avid Green Bay Packers fan! We have two beautiful daughters, Megan and Olivia. And, yes, they too, followed in their father’s footsteps and have remained faithful Packer fans. Which means, we are a house divided! I remain committed to being a Dallas Cowboys fan, considering I am a Texas native!
I later received my Master's Degree in Reading and my Doctorate Degree in Supervision of Curriculum and Instruction. I am passionate about teaching and learning and am committed to ensuring your children receive an exceptional educational experience!
Before becoming an administrator, I was a special education teacher, general ed teacher (grades 1-6), reading specialist, instructional coach, and district curriculum coordinator. I was an Assistant Principal in Rockwall ISD, where I held various roles for 15 years. I began my career in Plano as the Director and Principal of Head Start before joining the amazing Haun Husky family! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, boating, and going out to fun, new places for dinner!
I’m looking forward to partnering with you this year and continuing the traditions and making new traditions that make Haun a special place to educate your children.
