Welcome to Haun Elementary
Home of the Huskies
Welcome, Haun Huskies. My name is Jayne Smith, and I have the privilege of being your principal. One of my passions is serving with staff, parents and the community to provide a caring supportive environment with an excellent academic program for all students. They deserve nothing less.
This is the beginning of my 31st year in Plano ISD. My career began at Christie Elementary as a second grade teacher. Since that time I have taught K-5, been a PACE specialist, counselor and assistant principal. Although I have loved every position, this is my favorite. Go Huskies!! On a personal note, I have two wonderful sons, two beautiful daughter-in-laws and two brilliant adorable grandsons. Come see pictures anytime. My expectation is that your precious children are as cared for emotionally and academically at Haun, as what I would dream for my grandchildren. The Best!
Haun is a school with a warm environment for all who enter the doors and an excitement for learning. Students drive every decision we make in this building. We are here to serve our community and to continue fostering a love of learning within the students at Haun. As a staff, we are also continually learning and seeking solutions to best meet the needs of our children.
If you would like to volunteer this year, please go on the PISD website and fill out the volunteer information for your criminal background check in as soon as possible. I want to remind you about our RAPTOR system. All parents and visitors must sign in the front office beginning the second day of school to maintain safety and security for all students in the building. Please remember to bring your driver’s license with you to check in with RAPTOR.
This is going to be our best year yet filled with celebrations. Each year we get to welcome new Huskies, students, families and staff, and are so excited to have all of them join our Haun family. WELCOME!
I feel honored to be part of the Haun community. We will have a great year in 2018- 2019 loving, laughing and learning together.
