Plano ISD Graduation Regalia Guidelines
Plano ISD recognizes the importance of celebrating students’ achievements during graduation ceremonies. To maintain consistency and focus on academic and curricular accomplishments, the district has authorized specific regalia for students to wear. This approved regalia includes curricular and military stoles, medals and cords that represent various academic accomplishments and affiliations.
Approved Regalia
- Advanced Placement (AP)
- Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)
- College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR)
- Curricular national honor societies (e.g., National Art Honor Society, National LOTE Honor Societies, Fine Arts, etc.)
- GPA cords
- Health Sciences Academy (Plano East)
- Honor graduates
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Program (Plano East)
- JROTC or enlisted students (all branches of the US military)
- National Honor Society (NHS)
- Valedictorian and Salutatorian recognition
These approved items are designed to acknowledge students’ hard work, academic excellence and participation in various educational programs.
Administration and Distribution
The appropriate or affiliated sponsor, director, instructor or campus administrator will be responsible for maintaining records, ordering and distributing approved regalia.
Decorations
No decorations are allowed to be added to the issued cap and gown.
Dress
Business attire.
Bag Policy
Follow the bag policy at The Ford Center (Senior High Schools).

Additional RegaliaStudents are not allowed to add any other items to the graduation regalia.
Any additional items will be confiscated, or the students will not be allowed to walk.
