    The Plano ISD Visual Arts Department is committed through the making of art to developing skills and craftsmanship, engagement and persistence, envisioning, expressing, observing, reflecting, stretching and exploring, and understanding the relationship between their art as a valid expression of the world around them.

  • Elementary Art

    All elementary schools in Plano ISD provide elementary art. The students are instructed by Elementary Art Specialists and are provided opportunities to work with a variety of materials. The curriculum has been developed according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

  • Middle School Art

    Art is offered as an elective in the 7th and 8th grade at all middle schools in Plano ISD. The Middle School Art teacher encourages students to develop skills in a positive working environment. The sequential curriculum has been developed according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Please see the PISD course guide for course descriptions.

  • High School Art

    A variety of art courses are offered at the high schools and senior highs to meet the needs of our students. The sequential curriculum (Levels I- IV) has been developed according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Beginning with Level I, students prepare a portfolio of works that can be used for advanced course offerings. Students are provided with a wide variety of opportunities for exhibitions and competitions.  Please PISD Course Guide for full course descriptions.
