Our Plano ISD Visual Arts staff is committed to using the district curriculum to develop students' artistic skills, confidence, and exploration of creative processes through the making of art. With these skills students are empowered to connect art as a valid interaction with the world around them.
All elementary schools in Plano ISD provide elementary art. The students are instructed by Elementary Art Specialists and are provided opportunities to work with a variety of materials. The curriculum has been developed according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
Art is offered to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students at all middle schools in Plano ISD. The Middle School Art teacher encourages students to develop skills in a positive working environment.
